How to fill out the Free and Printable DMV Bill of Sale Form
This free and printable Bill of Sale Form is structured in three sections and below you’ll see details how to fill out this form:
Section 1
The first section contains the vehicle description. Fill in here the Make, Model, Year, Body type or Style, Color, and the VIN or Vehicle Identification Number. Following fill in the Odometer Reading at the time of transfer (use only digits, no tenths). Next check only one checkbox. So check if this is the Actual Mileage. Section 2
At the second section you have to complete the parties and transfer details. So this means to first fill in the full name of the seller. The name must be PRINTED – this means to use only Capital Letters to write SELLER’S NAME. Then seller’s street address, seller’s city and state. Further you need to fill out the Buyer information – the full name of the buyer. Also the buyer’s name must be PRINTED. This means to use only Capital Letters to write BUYER’S NAME. Additionally fill out buyer’s street address, buyer’s city and state. After these details you will have to write the sum of the transfer price of the vehicle or the word GIFT. Correspondingly, if this vehicle was a gift, you need to indicate the relationship with the buyer (e.g. parent, spouse, friend) and the value of the gifted vehicle:
Section 3
The last third section is the certification. It contains the seller’s statement about the details contained in this Bill of Sale and buyer’s acknowledgement. Finally fill out the seller’s signature, date and buyer’s signature:
